Desperate Redefined

I just came across what must be one of the most pathetic and cheapest money making schemes on the internet.
I can’t even think anyone is desperate enough to fall for this, but obviously I’m wrong.

The scheme is: A girl goes to ebay and starts an auction in which she’s selling 30 or 60 days of being a virtual girlfriend for some really desperate guy.
The girl promises to send the winner a letter every week scented with her perfume, a couple of pics, a few emails, maybe an online chat, and that’s it.
Easy money for any girl.

Here are some examples: Here, Here, Here, Here and Here.

What next ?

World of Psychos

Does it ever occur to you how disordered the world is today ?

Do you ever take a moment from your busy crowded day to just pull yourself back out of the crowd and look around you, look at the people surrounding you, look at the world, and look at yourself ?

I do, and believe me it’s not a pleasant thing to see.
What i see is a world all mixed up in these mad lives we’re leading, and people who think they are great and perfect on the outside while they’re truly crumbled and disordered on the inside.

Really, everyone these days has a number of psychiatric problems starting from stress to anger to different flavours of complexes to sick thoughts and weird sexual inclinations to haunting baggage they’ve collected from their pasts to a billion other emotional and mental instabilities.

Sometimes i just look around me and i don’t see the people i know and their faces but instead i see the troubled twisted insides of them.
Even the people i don’t know who i see on the streets, i can just sense the instability and disorder inside of them.

I think the whole world needs help and they should come to admit it.
The idea that a psychiatrist is for mad people should change, a psychiatrist is becoming more and more of a necessity for everyone.
The one big question though is: Who is gonna help the psychiatrists because even they have problems ๐Ÿ˜›

Anyway, till the day comes when everyone admits they have issues and that they need to get them solved, we’ll just have to go on living in a world full of psychos.

Al Qaeda Threatens to Nuke New York on February 2

Now this is weird and pretty stupid:

The banner headline spread across the front page of Il Giornale, the respected Milan daily reads:

“Al Qaeda: We will destroy New York within 35 days. Threat on the Internet. Countdown begins.”

If anyone was planning a terrorist act as big as that, and they were actually able to do it, do you think they’d be publicly stating it online like that ?
I don’t think anyone is that dumb !

Happy New Year 2004

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year 2004 ๐Ÿ™‚

May it be a great year, full of happy events, success and prosperity for Me & my wife first of all, and then the rest of the world ๐Ÿ˜›

Of course, a bunch of special wishes to the people who read this blog, and extra special wishes to the loyal readers who come back time and again ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope we hear less about war and more about peace in this next year.
I hope we hear less about poverty and pain and more about prosperity and well-being.
I hope we hear less about differences and more about similarities.
I hope we hear less about how bad the world is becoming and more about what a great place it can be.
And finally, i hope that we’re hearing less of all those bad things because they’ve dissapeared and not because of a hearing dissorder we develop ๐Ÿ˜›

I don’t have any special new year resolutions really, just some little thoughts and ideas, which can be summed up in the following points:

  • Try to organize my time better and to have more fun.
  • Try and organize my finances better and buy the necessary stuff on our Need-to-get list.
  • Try to advance even more at work and tune up my skills.
  • Play sports & regain my fitness: Ok, i know i’m not fat, but i’m just not as fit as i was before and as i wish i would be, so i have to work on that.
  • Open a savings account: Ok, i know this sounds really stupid and easy, but it’s not, as i won’t open a savings account unless i get to the point when i’m able to save, now that’s the big problem, lol.

So basically that’s it.

My wife and i are going to a one-man-show by Lamine El Nahdi called “Fi Hak El Sardouk Nrayyshou” tonight, which we saw before and loved. It’s side-cracking hilarious.
And then we’ll be spending some time in downtown Tunis before going home and watching a bunch of movies ๐Ÿ™‚

So, till next year, cya ๐Ÿ˜‰

Please don’t sleep with Israelis

An Israeli company has required thousands of Chinese workers to sign a contract promising not to have sex with Israelis or try to convert them.

According to the document, male workers cannot come into contact with Israeli women – including prostitutes – become their lovers or marry them.

Israeli advocates of foreign workers – who come also from Thailand, the Philippines and Romania – say they are held by employers in nearly slave-like conditions, and their bosses frequently take their passports and refuse to pay them.

Hmmm, interesting, don’t you think ?

Saddam was held by Kurdish forces, drugged and left for US troops

Saddam Hussein was captured by US troops only after he had been taken prisoner by Kurdish forces, drugged and abandoned ready for American soldiers to recover him, a British newspaper said.

An unnamed Western intelligence source in the Middle East told the Express: “Saddam was not captured as a result of any American or British intelligence…”

So, there goes the big empty victory show they put up.

Michael Jackson turns Jacko X

Well, well, well, It turns out that rumour i heard about Michael Jackson converting to Islam was not a rumour after all.

New York:
“Michael Jackson became a member of the black group Nation of Islam, the New York Post tabloid reported.
The newspaper quoted unnamed sources as saying that Jackson became a member of the black Muslim organisation led by Louis Farrakhan on Wednesday night. “The King of Pop is restyling himself Jacko X”. Farrakhan?s organisation, which is controversial because of its leaders? anti-Jewish declarations, would not comment on the report. Jermaine Jackson, another ex-member of the Jackson Five family group, converted to Islam in 1989.”

Now, even though this would be good news under other circumstances, as Michael has a big fanbase, and his converting to Islam could motivate his fans to learn more about Islam and check it out seriously.
But under the current circumstances in which he’s being charged for child molestation, it’s not really the best of times.

I think it kind of gives Islam a bad reputation that people like Michael Jackson or Mike Tyson convert to Islam when they’re in bad situations like these. Michael when he’s being charged for child molestation and Tyson after he was put in jail.
It could get people thinking that Islam is a religion for bad people which is so very untrue.

I won’t say it’s wrong or bad that Michael is converting, it can only be good news, it’s just that the timing is a bit sticky.

[Update: It seems this information is not entirely true. Michael Jackson did ally himself with the Nation of Islam, but it’s not sure whether he converted to Islam or not.]

Freedom Tower

This is an artist’s rendering of a night view of the Freedom Tower (which is proposed to restore Lower Manhattan’s skyline instead of the Twin Towers), center, as seen from the south. At left are the Empire State Building, and Statue of Liberty.

The Freedom Tower will be the world’s tallest building, according to the architects, who unveiled the revised model Friday.

The tower, designed to be a centerpiece of the rebuilding plan for the World Trade Center site, will rise 1,776 feet — a nod to the year the United States declared its independence.

Looks really cool, huh ?

9/11 Attack Was Preventable

For the first time, the chairman of the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks is saying publicly that 9/11 could have and should have been prevented.

Thomas Kean, appointed by the Bush administration and a former Republican governor of New Jersey, is now pointing fingers inside the administration and laying blame.

“As you read the report, you’re going to have a pretty clear idea what wasn’t done and what should have been done,” he said. “This was not something that had to happen.”

He also goes on:

“There are people that, if I was doing the job, would certainly not be in the position they were in at that time because they failed. They simply failed,”

To find out who failed and why, the commission has navigated a political landmine, threatening a subpoena to gain access to the president’s top-secret daily briefs. Those documents may shed light on one of the most controversial assertions of the Bush administration ? that there was never any thought given to the idea that terrorists might fly an airplane into a building.

“How is it possible we have a national security advisor coming out and saying we had no idea they could use planes as weapons when we had FBI records from 1991 stating that this is a possibility,” said Kristen Breitweiser, one of four New Jersey widows who lobbied Congress and the president to appoint the commission.

I think that if this report is proven true, the people responsible for this failure should be held accountable for the tradegic events that happened.
