I’m INTJ, what about you ?

I just came across this Jung-Myers-Briggs test, and after taking it, i was classified as INTJ (Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Judging).

Here is a description of the INTJ profile:

To outsiders, INTJs may appear to project an aura of “definiteness”, of self-confidence. This self-confidence, sometimes mistaken for simple arrogance by the less decisive, is actually of a very specific rather than a general nature; its source lies in the specialized knowledge systems that most INTJs start building at an early age. When it comes to their own areas of expertise — and INTJs can have several — they will be able to tell you almost immediately whether or not they can help you, and if so, how. INTJs know what they know, and perhaps still more importantly, they know what they don’t know.

INTJs are perfectionists, with a seemingly endless capacity for improving upon anything that takes their interest. What prevents them from becoming chronically bogged down in this pursuit of perfection is the pragmatism so characteristic of the type: INTJs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion “Does it work?” to everything from their own research efforts to the prevailing social norms. This in turn produces an unusual independence of mind, freeing the INTJ from the constraints of authority, convention, or sentiment for its own sake.

INTJs are known as the “Systems Builders” of the types, perhaps in part because they possess the unusual trait combination of imagination and reliability. Whatever system an INTJ happens to be working on is for them the equivalent of a moral cause to an INFJ; both perfectionism and disregard for authority may come into play, as INTJs can be unsparing of both themselves and the others on the project. Anyone considered to be “slacking,” including superiors, will lose their respect — and will generally be made aware of this; INTJs have also been known to take it upon themselves to implement critical decisions without consulting their supervisors or co-workers. On the other hand, they do tend to be scrupulous and even-handed about recognizing the individual contributions that have gone into a project, and have a gift for seizing opportunities which others might not even notice.

In the broadest terms, what INTJs “do” tends to be what they “know”. Typical INTJ career choices are in the sciences and engineering, but they can be found wherever a combination of intellect and incisiveness are required (e.g., law, some areas of academia). INTJs can rise to management positions when they are willing to invest time in marketing their abilities as well as enhancing them, and (whether for the sake of ambition or the desire for privacy) many also find it useful to learn to simulate some degree of surface conformism in order to mask their inherent unconventionality.

Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ’s Achilles heel. While they are capable of caring deeply for others (usually a select few), and are willing to spend a great deal of time and effort on a relationship, the knowledge and self-confidence that make them so successful in other areas can suddenly abandon or mislead them in interpersonal situations.

This happens in part because many INTJs do not readily grasp the social rituals; for instance, they tend to have little patience and less understanding of such things as small talk and flirtation (which most types consider half the fun of a relationship). To complicate matters, INTJs are usually extremely private people, and can often be naturally impassive as well, which makes them easy to misread and misunderstand. Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense. ๐Ÿ™‚ This sometimes results in a peculiar naivete’, paralleling that of many Fs — only instead of expecting inexhaustible affection and empathy from a romantic relationship, the INTJ will expect inexhaustible reasonability and directness.

Probably the strongest INTJ assets in the interpersonal area are their intuitive abilities and their willingness to “work at” a relationship. Although as Ts they do not always have the kind of natural empathy that many Fs do, the Intuitive function can often act as a good substitute by synthesizing the probable meanings behind such things as tone of voice, turn of phrase, and facial expression. This ability can then be honed and directed by consistent, repeated efforts to understand and support those they care about, and those relationships which ultimately do become established with an INTJ tend to be characterized by their robustness, stability, and good communications.

I can only agree with most of this, especially the good stuff ๐Ÿ˜‰
And i think the profile really touches a number of important points of my personality.
Anyway, if anyone who personally knows me reads this, please comment and tell me what you think, and what you think applies to me and what doesn’t.

To-Do list for when i go to Jordan

Well, i haven’t had the chance to visit Jordan ever since i left last year, even though my wife did, i was just too busy with work at the time.

Anyway, i’ve compiled a list of stuff that i need to do when i hopefully visit Jordan next year.

The list goes as follows:

– Eat at McDonald’s, Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC, Popeyes, Milano and every other restaurant we don’t have in Tunisia, i just miss that stuff so much. By the time i’m done i’m gonna be twice my weight now ๐Ÿ˜›
– Re-discover Amman, find out everything that’s happened ever since i left last year and go everywhere new that has opened.
– Join up with friends there and spend some good times, just like the good old days.
– Buy a stock of CashU cards, that i can use to buy stuff on the internet ๐Ÿ˜›
– Buy some new CDs and DVDs. They’re cheaper and there is more stuff that matches my style.
– Buy some computer books. They’re cheaper and in English (Thank God).
– Buy a new mobile phone. This time i’m dropping Siemens for a change, i want either a Nokia or a Samsung.
– Visit my old university. I wanna see how it’s surviving without me in it.
– Shop for gadgets and cool stuff. I especially want a new higher resolution digital cam and a video game console (still have to decide between Xbox & PS2).
– Visit the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum and maybe even Petra.
– If possible, make a quick trip to Lebanon for a couple of days.

The list goes on and on of course, and i’m sure once i’m there i’ll be lucky if i even do 2 of the things listed above, but it’s a challenge for me to try and do them all, and i’ll be doing my best ๐Ÿ˜‰
God help me ๐Ÿ™‚

No Blogs for 3 days :(

Haven’t blogged in 3 days and it feels like my tongue has been pulled out, haven’t had internet access at home for 2 weeks and it feels like i’m crippled.

Anyway, the past few days went as follows:

– Friday: Basically all i did was be lazy on this day, do a bit of shopping for my new place, and then we had futour at my parent’s place.
– Saturday: More laziness, then went out to see how much it would cost me to buy a dish (no, i’m not jealous of my upstairs neighbour :P) and a closet. Made the order for the closet and will try to go order the dish today. I also rented and watched a movie called “The Last Emperor” which deserves a post of its own.
– Sunday: More and more laziness. All i did was listen to music while playing Spider Solitaire ๐Ÿ˜› I finally won in the Difficult stage, normally i’d get bored and give up half way through the game.

That’s about everything from my weekend.

My neighbour got a dish, hooray !

Well yesterday was a happy day for our new upstairs neighbours, they got a satellite dish installed ๐Ÿ˜‰

Their TV was on all night long on high volume, and when i left to work in the morning, it was still on, still on high volume.
What a delight !

I can just imagine the guy and his wife still sitting in front of the TV with burning red eyes, switching from channel to channel, with a huge grin on their faces, fighting the urge to go to sleep just to be able to use their new toy for a few more minutes.

Oh well, i hope they’re fed up of it by tonight, so we can at least get some good sleep…

Romdhankom Mabrouk

Well today is the first day of Ramadan in Tunisia, so Ramadan Mubarak to everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Woke up at 4:10AM today for Suhour, and we had the Tunisian specialty “Mesfouf” (an even finer type of Couscous eaten with milk, dates, dried grapes and almond), Yummy.
After that i prayed my first prayer of the day on time, yep not only have i started praying, i’m also praying on time, lol, i hope it lasts ๐Ÿ˜›
Then i went back to sleep only to wake up a couple of hours later, as today work-time changes too (From 8 to 3 non-stop).

I was expecting to wake up in a mess after the tiresome weekend and not enough sleep, but in fact i woke up in great shape, and feeling really good, so hopefully i’ll have a good day today ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ll be going over to my parent’s place in La Marsa for Futour (Breaking of fast) today, so i’ll hopefully be passing by this Tunisian sweets shop there to buy some “Zlabia” (one of my favourite Tunisian sweets in Ramadan).

Ah, i can just breathe Ramadan in the air, and it feels great ๐Ÿ™‚

Where have i been ?

Haven’t written anything in 3 days. Friday i simply had nothing to say, and Saturday & Sunday were totally exhausting, read on and you’ll know why…

Well, the story began on the second week of my vacation, after my wife’s sister went back home to Jordan. My wife and I started looking for a new appartment that is nice, in a safe good place, a bit smaller than the one we were in, and most importantly cheaper ๐Ÿ˜‰
And well after living the life of a real estate agent for over a week we found an appartment and made the decision to move into it.

And in an effort to make the move before Ramadan we started moving the small and fragile stuff slowly with our car througout the past week to reach a climax on the weekend where we moved a load of stuff with our car and had the movers move the big stuff.

So basically we made it, and last night was our first night in our new home, but God were we totally pooped out !
By the end of the day i was too tired to even blink.

We still have some stuff lying around in our old place, but we’ll be moving them during this week, as we have to give in the keys on October 31st.

So basically, now i’m a resident of Soukra, the name of the residence “Diar Soukra” suggests that, but i don’t know if that’s actually correct, as i don’t what the place is called yet, it’s somewhere between Soukra, Ain Zaghouan, Cit

Finally Washed

Well, after months of collecting dust, mud, dirt and whatever a car can collect, our car’s original colour became somehow unknown.
I remember choosing the colour “Red Lucifer” when ordering it last year, but the colour it has had recently is not even close, lol.

Anyway, i finally took it to a car wash today and got it all cleaned up and shiny, and now she looks as good as new ๐Ÿ™‚

Thankfully, it’s rain curse was even broken. Before today, whenever i washed the car or even thought of washing it, the weather would change and it would rain like crazy making the car dirty again, but today just a few rain drops fell and then it stopped.

I’m posting a pic of clean Lilo (our car’s name) on my Photolog ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ennahli Park

Yesterday, we went out with some friends of ours, and we chose to go to the Ennahli Park. It was our first time there, and it’s quite a nice place.
It’s situated in a nice green hilly area in the beginning of the Bizerte highway, with places for people to sit, have picnics, or just have something to drink/eat in this nice little caf

Back to work

The vacation is over, and i have to face the painful reality that those 2 weeks of rest and beautiful laziness are over and gone, and that i have to go back to work if i plan to survive.

So, here i am back at the office, after having to wake up early again, getting back into the mood for work, and hoping some exciting projects come my way to make it more enjoyable.
