PerfectJournal

Lately I’ve been playing around with a new tool called PerfectJournal which is, as it’s name suggests, a journal software.

It’s quite a nice tool to capture and store notes, thoughts, plans, ideas, todos, research and diaries in a clean and organized way using folders and keywords.

A cool feature that could come in very handy is the ability to directly publish entries onto Blogger, as well as export journal entries to RSS format or to Word.

I also like the ability to rate entries, which works great for me with stuff I write or with ideas as I like to rate them according to importance or priority.

It’s got a lot of other really nice features and it’s pretty straight-forward and easy to use.

If you’re interested, you can find more info on the site: PerfectJournal.

Kuwaiti Women Rights Now, The Blue Revolution

After yesterday’s demonstrations by Kuwaiti women demanding equal voting rights, also called by some “The Blue Revolution” because of the blue “Women’s Rights Now” posters they were carrying, Kuwait’s Cabinet is speeding up a parliamentary debate on an amendment it proposed to the state’s election law, which aims to give women the right to vote and stand as political candidates.

Debate on women being able to vote here gained momentum last month after the prime minister, Sheik Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, wrote in a rare newspaper column that it was “high time women get this right and practice it” because they were just as educated as other women in Arab and Muslim countries.

On the other hand, Kuwait’s hardline Islamists embarked on an anti-women rights campaign under the slogan that “based on Islamic Sharia law, women have no political rights”, which is wrong, as Islam never denied women these rights.

I think it’s about time Kuwait and all other Arab countries start giving women their full rights.
These countries can’t go on ignoring half the population. They have the right to be heard, to vote, to run for public office, to play a bigger role in their country.

Being from Tunisia, where it’s about time we men start fighting for Men’s Rights because of all the rights women have that we don’t, lol, I can truly feel the difference between a country where women are equals to men and are as much a driving force for the country as their male counterparts, and a country that doesn’t give them that chance.

Shark Tale

Last night I finally got to watch “Shark Tale“, a Dreamworks animation about a fish called Oscar who wants to become a somebody and who claims he is a shark slayer to get there.

This turned out better than I expected. And I have to say Dreamworks Animation are getting better and better at this.

A bunch of great actors did the voices for the characters: Will Smith, Jack Black, Ren

Ken Livingstone: Sharon Is A War Criminal

Ken Livingstone, mayor of London, in a searing critique of Israeli policies published on Friday in The Guardian newspaper…

Sharon “is a war criminal who should be in prison, not in office”, he wrote, saying that even an Israeli commission had blamed the prime minister for massacres at Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

The mayor also denounced “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians during the expansion of the Israeli state, Israeli settlements in the occupied territories and the denial of Palestinians’ right to return.

“Sharon continues to organise terror,” he said, citing the disproportionate number of Palestinians killed compared to Israelis during the Palestinian intifada or uprising.

Rejecting charges of anti-Semitism, Livingstone argued it was necessary to separate criticism of Israeli policies from anti-Semitism, saying the Israeli government deliberately attempted to conflate the two.

I couldn’t agree more with him.

Sharon is a war criminal who should be tried for all the massacres and crimes he was behind, and thrown in prison for the rest of his life.
He is the worst of terrorists and his policies all amount to state terrorism.

Also, a very important issue is the issue of Israel trying to conflate criticism of Israel with anti-semitism. They’re two totally different things and just because someone is against the policies of the Israeli government doesn’t mean they’re anti-semitic and hate Jews.

Djerba on CNN’s Inside The Middle East

A bit earlier, I was flipping through news channels when I found “Inside The Middle East” on CNN, and they were talking about the Tunisian island of Djerba and how it could teach the world a lesson about religious tolerance.

The show talked about how Jewish Tunisians have been living in Tunisia for over 2000 years and how they’ve always lived in peace and harmony with Muslim Tunisians.

There were a bunch of interviews with both Jews and Muslims who all talked about how they lived as brothers and how they always put country before religion.

The show also mentioned the terror attack that took place a few years ago in Djerba at the Ghriba synagogue, and how it didn’t affect the relations between the Jewish and Muslim population and how they’re always getting along together great.

I too think that Djerba is a great example of religious tolerance and that more people should learn to accept each other, respect each other’s beliefs and co-exist peacefully.

Indian Youth Castrates Self Over Broken Engagement

What the ….?!!

In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old youth of Ahmedabad district castrated himself earlier this week to do away with the root cause of his sexual frustration! Bachu Mafabhai, a resident of Sadatpura in Detroj town, chopped off his penis with a sharp blade on Tuesday morning, which according to his own confession, was to get rid himself of the root cause of his unfulfilled sexual desires that were making life miserable for him.

“I could not sleep for nights on end, I would just keep tossing and turning in bed,” Bachu, who had a broken wedding engagement four years ago, told TNN.

To escape the daily misery unleashed by his unfulfilled desires, Bachu chopped off his sexual organ and buried it near his home.

I can’t believe this.
This is totally, incredibly stupid.

Saw

We just finished watching “Saw“, and damn that was one creepy thriller scary movie.

Just the fact that someone can come up with such sick ideas is scary, lol.

I don’t want to get into details and burn the movie idea for you, so here’s just a little overview. It’s about two men who wake up to find themselves shackled at opposite ends of a nasty-looking toilet as part of some sort of game by a serial killer nicknamed “Jigsaw”.

It’s one of the best scary movies I’ve seen in a while. The last one maybe being “The Ring“.

If you’re into horror and thriller stuff, you should check this movie out.

My score for it is: 8/10.

They’re already working on a sequel.

Muslim Worker Quits Job After Threats

Sad and really bad…

A Muslim worker in Belgium was forced to quit her job following the latest in a series of death threats from a shadowy extremist group against her employer.

The case has gained notoriety throughout the country since the first threatening letter arrived in November.

Naima Amzil and her boss had been called heroes for refusing to cave in to demands from a group calling itself New Free Flanders, which insisted the woman be fired because she is Muslim.

Amzil gave up on Wednesday when she heard of the latest letter, which contained two bullets and warned that “the execution is being prepared again”.

It’s very sad to see such racism still exists in the world.

The Big Bounce

Yesterday, we rented “The Big Bounce“, featuring Owen Wilson, Morgan Freeman, Charlie Sheen and Gary Sinise.

This was supposed to be a comedy/con movie, and with a pretty good cast, I thought it would be a nice movie. I was wrong.

This movie totally sucked. It’s not funny at all, the characters suck, the story sucks, the con sucks, everything sucked!

I can’t understand how some actors can agree to do shitty movies like this one.

Don’t rent this movie if it’s the last movie you haven’t seen in the world. It’s simply not worth the time.

My score for this movie: 0/10.
yep, it’s that bad.
