10 Words That Best Describe Me

10 Words that describe me the most:

Good: I’m a pretty good person. Nice, honest, loyal, thoughtful, kind and I even wear spandex at night to fight evil-doers ๐Ÿ˜›

Competitive: I’m a highly competitive person. I’m extremely driven by competition, and will put all my energy into winning. Second place just isn’t made for me.

Lazy: I love being lazy, just hanging around doing nothing, watching movies, reading, listening to music, or whatever.

Shy: I’m actually a very shy person. When I was a kid, I used to blush when talking to girls, although I got over that later. Anyway up to now, I’m pretty quiet and shy around people I’ve just met.

Funny: After I get to know people better and am more relaxed around them, I open up and am quite a funny and fun person.
I’m pretty dirty minded and sarcastic in my humour ๐Ÿ˜‰

Understanding: I’m a very understanding person. I always put myself in the other person’s shoes and try to understand what they’re feeling, what they’re thinking and where they come from. I try to never be judgemental and to always give people the benefit of the doubt.

Open Minded: I’m always open to listen to new ideas and views and try to understand them even if they are the opposite to mine.
It doesn’t mean I’ll be convinced but I am willing to fully listen and learn of other points of view.

Crazy: I’m somehow a bit crazy in a fun sense. People usually think I’m a very serious person, but that’s only because they don’t see the other crazy side of me. My wife, family and close friends are the only people who truly see the extent of where my madness goes. Poor them ๐Ÿ˜›

Friend: I’m a very good friend. I’m always there for my friends, ready to listen, give advice and help. Plus I’m the best secret-keeper in the world.

Feelingless/Coldblooded: Ok, this is something that has been thrown at me a lot in my life in one form or another, although I don’t agree. Some people think I’m feelingless, some others think I’m cold in my reactions, some think I’m simply coldblooded. In reality, I’m not, I’m just someone who is good at hiding his feelings and who knows how to control his temper.

Human Body Broadband Networking

This gives a new meaning to the “connection” between two people…

Your body could soon be the backbone of a broadband personal data network linking your mobile phone or MP3 player to a cordless headset, your digital camera to a PC or printer, and all the gadgets you carry around to each other.

These personal area networks are already possible using radio-based technologies, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, or just plain old cables to connect devices. But NTT, the Japanese communications company, has developed a technology called RedTacton, which it claims can send data over the surface of the skin at speeds of up to 2Mbps — equivalent to a fast broadband data connection.

Using RedTacton-enabled devices, music from an MP3 player in your pocket would pass through your clothing and shoot over your body to headphones in your ears. Instead of fiddling around with a cable to connect your digital camera to your computer, you could transfer pictures just by touching the PC while the camera is around your neck. And since data can pass from one body to another, you could also exchange electronic business cards by shaking hands, trade music files by dancing cheek to cheek, or swap phone numbers just by kissing.

Oops, sorry, I didn’t mean to put my hand down there, I was just uploading an mp3 to your, hmmm, hmm, thingie, I mean iPod ๐Ÿ˜‰

Voices from The Bethlehem Ghetto

“A window for you to look in, to see past the walls, barbed wire fences, and the media distortions; to hear from the people in Bethlehem themselves.”

Palestinians and internationals living in the Bethlehem region have started a weblog. They want to tell the world what it is like to be living in occupied territory, under an economic siege, encircled by a wall and military checkpoints…

Which religion is the right one for you?

Just came across this quiz that asks which religion is the right one for you?
After answering all the questions, I got this:

You scored as Islam. Your beliefs are most similar to those of Islam. Do more research on Islam and possibly consider taking the shahadah and officially becoming a Muslim, if you aren’t already.

Despite the actions of some – who go against the teachings of Islam – Islam is a religion of peace; the word “islam” means “peace through submission to God.” “Muslim” means “one who submits to God.” Islam is the third of the three Abrahamic faiths, and it shares much with Judaism in Christianity; its differences are the acceptance of Muhammad as the last and final prophet, and the oneness of God – in other words, that Jesus, though he was a revered prophet, was not in fact God, and only one God exists. Apparently the Taliban could not read (though their name means “students”), because the Qur’an states that men and women are equal as believers, and that all believers should be educated and seek knowledge. Modesty in dress and behavior is required in Islam for both men and women to preserve the values of society and move the emphasis from superificial appearance to intelligence, knowledge, and God.

No Internet Caf

As I mentioned before, we spent the past weekend in the island of Djerba in the south of Tunisia.

Anyway, even though this trip was meant as a break from our everyday life and the complicated life of the city, we found ourselves looking for an internet caf

Tunisiana launches “Ma Tunisiana”

Tunisiana, the first private mobile operator in Tunisia, has launched a new web based service called “Ma Tunisiana” (My Tunisiana).

Ma Tunisiana currently provides the following services online:

– Sending, receiving and archiving SMS messages.
– Checking your credit.
– Checking how much you’ve spent up to the day before.
– Changing your personal preferences on whether you would like to receive SMS ads and newsletters, or appear in the user directory.
– And soon, checking your invoices and their details.

I think this is great. Bravo to Tunisiana for this.

Even though we in Tunisia are still a bit behind in the mobile telephony sector and the services available through it, I think this is a very good step forward.

Tunisiana has been the force driving this sector in Tunisia by offering new services and pushing Tunisie Telecom into following them.

Hopefully “Ma Tunisiana” will keep growing to provide more great services and stuff like Mobile Email, content subscription possibilities, Web to MMS, …etc.

I think it’s also time MMS and GPRS services are introduced from both operators.

Yahoo! Does Acquire Flickr

So it turns out the rumours were true after all, Yahoo! has actually acquired Flickr.

I wrote about this here, when the rumours first surfaced, and I basically thought it was bad news.

Now after reading what the guys at Flickr have to say about it, I’m feeling a bit better about it all, but will still be watching how things go with some skepticism.

I just wish the Flickr people continue to have the freedom they need to keep making Flickr an even greater service and that Yahoo! don’t interfere too much and screw up the service.

To Djerba And Back

Djerba View

We just got back from Djerba after a great extended weekend spent there.

Saturday morning, we packed everything we need, turned off our mobile phones, jumped into the car and started the 600Km drive to the island of Djerba in the south of Tunisia. It was a bit tiresome but worth it.

We both needed some time off from our everyday life and a break from all the madness, so we thought that with the Independence day and Youth day offering us an extended weekend, we could get away from it all in Djerba.

We basically relaxed at the hotel, went swimming, did some sightseeing around the island, ate delicious food and simply enjoyed ourselves without thinking about one single thing from our everyday lives.
Ahhh, it was awesome and felt just beautiful…
