Evil Overlord To-do List

Just found a very funny list of The Top 100 Things I’d Do If I Ever Became An Evil Overlord.

My favourites are:

2. My ventilation ducts will be too small to crawl through.

3. My noble half-brother whose throne I usurped will be killed, not kept anonymously imprisoned in a forgotten cell of my dungeon.

9. I will not include a self-destruct mechanism unless absolutely necessary. If it is necessary, it will not be a large red button labelled “Danger: Do Not Push”. The big red button marked “Do Not Push” will instead trigger a spray of bullets on anyone stupid enough to disregard it. Similarly, the ON/OFF switch will not clearly be labelled as such.

35. I will not grow a goatee. In the old days they made you look diabolic. Now they just make you look like a disaffected member of Generation X.

45. I will make sure I have a clear understanding of who is responsible for what in my organization. For example, if my general screws up I will not draw my weapon, point it at him, say “And here is the price for failure,” then suddenly turn and kill some random underling.

50. My main computers will have their own special operating system that will be completely incompatible with standard IBM and Macintosh powerbooks.

81. If I am fighting with the hero atop a moving platform, have disarmed him, and am about to finish him off and he glances behind me and drops flat, I too will drop flat instead of quizzically turning around to find out what he saw.

100. Finally, to keep my subjects permanently locked in a mindless trance, I will provide each of them with free unlimited Internet access.

Spain’s New Government

So, in a strong reply to the government’s lies and deception, the people of Spain have gone out and voted against the ruling party, kicking them out of rule.

The people of Spain have chosen change and have put an end to a government that blindly lead the country into a war of lies.

The socialist party won the elections and the Prime Minister elect Jose-Luis Rodriguez Zapatero has vowed to make the defeat of terrorism his immediate priority.

Well, that phrase has become quite a scary one lately which often means more use of power and more wars. So I hope it’s different this time and that this government is more rational and smarter than the previous one, and that it will understand that the only way to fight terrorism is by eliminating it’s reason to exist.

Madrid Attacks Point at Al Qaeda, Overshadow Elections

So, it seems more and more evidence coming out each day is pointing to Al Qaeda as the ones responsible for the attack in Madrid.

Recently a tape was found saying it’s from Al Qaeda in which they claim responsibility for the attacks as a form of retaliation for Spanish cooperation during the US-led invasion of Iraq.

“This is an answer to your cooperation with the Bush criminals
and their allies. “

“This is an answer to crimes which you committed in the world, notably in Iraq and Afghanistan, and there will be more, so help us God.”

Which confirms my thoughts that use of power from both sides will only bring more use of power in return.
Use of force is never a good solution for anything. It maybe good momentarily but it has a lot of bad consequences on the long run.
The only way any problem can be solved is by addressing the reasons behind it, what keeps it alive and finding peaceful solutions to it.

Anyway, what’s really disgusting is what the Spanish government did.
They pinned the attack on ETA and tried to play down any possibility Al Qaeda was behind it because they knew people would blame them for the attacks if Al Qaeda were behind it as 90% of the people were against Spain going to war.
And of course, being on the doorstep of elections, they don’t want to go through all that and lose, so what do they do ? They lie and hide evidence and push investigations towards ETA.

Before voting booths opened, thousands of demonstrators flocked into the streets of Madrid and other cities to protest against the government’s response to Thursday’s bombings.

Some protesters accused Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar of provoking the attacks by supporting the US in its invasion of Iraq.

More than 3000 demonstrators shouted slogans such as “Resign” and “Kick Aznar Out!” beside the Atocha station, where two of the four trains exploded.

I sure wish this liar gets kicked out and that Bush and Blair follow.

Hell in Camp X-Ray

One of the British captives freed from Guantanamo Bay tells the world of its full horror and what he and the other inmates went through.

Jamal al-Harith, 37, a father-of-three from Manchester, told how he was assaulted with fists, feet and batons after refusing a mystery injection and reveals how prostitutes were taken into the camp to degrade Muslim inmates.

“Prisoners faced psychological torture and mind-games in attempts to make them confess to acts they had never committed.”

Jamal added: “The whole point of Guantanamo was to get to you psychologically. The beatings were not as nearly as bad as the psychological torture – bruises heal after a week – but the other stuff stays with you.”

“punishment beatings were handed out by guards known as the Extreme Reaction Force. They waded into inmates in full riot-gear, raining blows on them.”

So much for human rights, huh ?!
You’d think the country that talks so much about human rights in the world would at least respect them itself.
Doesn’t seem that’s the case at all.

Terror in Madrid

What happened in Madrid yesterday was really bad.
So many people dead and a lot more injured. Truly sad.

It’s always sad when innocent human lives are wasted. And I wish we were in a better world where things like this never happened.

The Spanish government’s main suspect is the ETA group that has attacked before in the past and that wants independence for the Basque region.
Anyway a second line of investigation is going into whether there was a muslim link to the operation.

They say they found a van with detonators and a tape with Koranic verses on it. Plus a foolish group of known liars who claim they are related to Al Qaeda (Although intelligence sources have said time and again that they aren’t and that they’re just some people fooling around) are saying that they’re behind the attack.
So, basically there still is no strong link or evidence pointing at any Islamic group being involved.

Honestly, I truly hope that no one with any link to Islam is anywhere behind this.
It’s really enough that the Al Qaeda attacks are making Islam sound more like a terrorist brand than the peaceful religion that it is.

Space Ads

Alexander Lavrynov, a russian spacecraft designer, has patented a device for putting advertising into space that would be seen from Earth.

He said the satellites would be visible in the night sky by employing sunlight reflectors, with multiple satellites linked together to create a message large enough to be seen.

“Space commercials could embrace huge areas and a colossal number of consumers,” he said. “This would literally be intercontinental coverage.”

“People would be able to see writing in the skies from the Earth no worse than they see the stars,” he said.

Shit !
Now, we’ll have ads and spam wherever we go.
Whenever we look up to the sky, wishing to find a romantic full moon, we’ll be greeted with yet another viagra or organ enlargement ad.

For God’s sake, leave our skies alone !
Don’t mess up the beauty of an open dark sky and it’s scattered pearly stars.

The Day It All Started

So, exactly 25 years ago, on a day like no other, at a time like this time, the whole story started.
The story, I like to call my glorious life.

Yep, that’s right, today’s my 25th birthday.
And well, as usual, instead of thinking of partying like crazy or doing some mad thing, I’m thinking about the past 25 years of my life, what I’ve accomplished in them and what I have to show for it all.
I’m also thinking about the future and what it holds for me, or more precisely what I can make it hold for me.

I never really was a birthday party guy. Not that I’m some party-pooper or something, but I just think I’ve grown out of the stage of having birthday parties.
Of course that pisses my wife off because she’s been wanting to throw me a birthday party for years now, with me screwing up her plans every single time ๐Ÿ˜›
Anyway, I’d just rather spend a day like my birthday with my wife and family, that’s where my joy is.

I don’t feel older really, now that another year has been added to my history, I just feel exactly like I did last year or the year before.
But when I look at it and think, 25 years is a quarter of a century, well that puts things into a different perspective and it makes me think: how much time do I have left ?
Ok, I know those aren’t thoughts a person should be thinking on his birthday, but well, it was just a passing thought.

My plans for today ?
Well, I’m at work for now. Will be going out for a good lunch with my wife.
Then I’ll be back for more work. After that I’ll be going home to share my birthday with my wife and family.
Sounds great to me ๐Ÿ™‚
If only I took today off and slept more in the morning, It’d be perfect ๐Ÿ˜›

My resolutions are the same ones I took for new years, simply because I didn’t get to implement those yet, lol.

So, to end this post, I’ll just wish myself a great and happy birthday, and may all my wishes come true ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anti-semitism Redefined

Anti-semitism:
(1) hostility toward Jews as a religious or racial minority group, often accompanied by social, political or economic discrimination
(2) opposition to Zionism
(3) sympathy for the opponents of Israel.

That’s the new definition of Anti-semitism in the Merriem-Webster dictionary in their Third New International dictionary.

So basically that makes millions of people (inlcuding a big number of Jews) anti-semites without them knowing it, just because they criticized Israeli policies or felt some sympathy for the Palestinian people.

I’m someone who respects all religions, never had anything against Jews as Jews and always stood by my belief that there is a big difference between a peaceful Jew and a murdering Zionist.
But still, according to this definition, I’m a big anti-semite because I’m totally supportive of the Palestinian cause, and because I’m firmly against Israel’s policies and the Zionist plans behind it.

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) have lodged their protest with Merriam-Webster and have asked that Merriam Webster publicly repudiate the definition, send errata sheets to correct the dictionaries in libraries and rephrase the definition in future editions.
But a spokesman for the company, Arthur Bicknell, simply replied that a new edition of the dictionary, with an updated entry, can be expected by the end of this decade and that sending errata sheets to libraries as a temporary fix is beyond their capacity.

Israeli Arab Workers marked with a red “X”

Hard hats worn by Israeli-Arab builders of the Knesset’s new wing marked with a red “X” — to aid security snipers.

The Security Department instructed that their helmets be marked so that it would be easier to distinguish them from other, foreign workers and keep a constant watch on their movements.
The instructions were issued even though many of the workers were cleared by the General Security Service within the last month.

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin ordered Knesset security officers on Tuesday to halt their practice of ordering Arab construction workers at the Knesset to wear special identifying marks. Rivlin’s directive came after he was notified Monday evening of the practice by Member of Knesset Ahmed Tibi.

” I think this is a shameful disgrace for the Knesset”, Said Member of Knesset Issam Mahoul. ” I have no problem with security needs but this kind of marking is insufferable. If it isn?t removed, I will insist that it be replaced with a yellow patch”, he added.
An apparent reference to the yellow Star of David emblems Jews had to pin to their clothes during Nazi rule.

The Israel Office of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has also harshly criticized the practice, issuing the following statement:

“While it is understandable that all workers at sensitive sites such as the Knesset have full and thorough security checks, it is both discriminatory and insensitive to visibly mark certain individuals based on race, religion or nationality, regardless of security concerns”

The ADL, founded in 1913, is the world’s leading organization fighting anti-Semitism through programs and services that counteract hatred, prejudice and bigotry.
