Master of English

I just took this quiz called: “How grammatically sound are you?”.

And well, here are the results:

You are a MASTER of the English language!

While your English is not exactly perfect, you are still more grammatically correct than just about every American. Still, there is always room for improvement…

Now, I never expected that.
I mean, ok, I know my English is quite good; It practically was my mother tongue. But I know that I have some weakness in grammar sometimes.
And God do I hate punctuation!
I always feel I’m putting my punctuation marks in the wrong places and I probably am.

Anyway, now that I read the result again and see that I’m being compared to Americans, I think I’m starting to agree ๐Ÿ˜›

  1. Yeah, your english is very nice. However, just wanted to tell you that being compared to Americans is not a good thing. Seriously, they suck in English!
Still, you’re are a talented writer!

  2. I know.
    That’s what I meant.

I mean, if I’m being compared to Americans, of course I can be considered a master in English ๐Ÿ˜›

  3. My score was:

    You are a GRAMMAR GOD!

If your mission in life is not already to preserve the English tongue, it should be. Congratulations and thank you!

P.S. I was really surprised! But it was nice. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Good for you Lynxo ๐Ÿ˜‰
So if you’re so good at grammar, could you at least shed some light on how the hell I should use punctuation ? It’s killing me !

  5. Welcome to Lynxo’s FREE English courses.

    Lesson 1:
First of all, you need to stop using the French way of punctuation in your English writing.

Do not to leave extra spaces that does not exist in English writing, and would show that you are a francophone! (i.e. !, ?, :, “, (, & ))
Those marks come right next to the letter that precedes them. In French, we have a space, but in English we don’t.

That should be all for tonight. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope to see you again in our coming lessons.
