Amr Khaled

I’ve heard a lot about the Islamic preacher Amr Khaled over the past couple of years. And I’ve known or seen a lot of people who were really touched by him. From women who have started praying and wearing the Hijab (Muslim Head Scarf) to men who have started praying and stopped their bad habits.

Even though I heard a lot of talk about him and about what he has to say and how he says it, I never really got to catch him on TV and see the show he hosts on the Iqraa channel. Not until this past week.

The first thing that struck me was how nice the guy is and how smoothly he talks. He’s nothing like other preachers who frighten people and tell them that this or that is the right thing to do or else God will punish them. In fact what he does is the complete opposite, he talks to people in a very friendly manner and explains everything in detail; showing the good sides of things and making it more a matter of the people wanting to do certain things than having to do them.

The show I saw him in is called “Life Makers”, in which he talks about Islamic values and principles, how they can help in life, their benefits, goals and reasons behind them.

I truly enjoyed the couple of episodes I saw because I like the way he presents things and the fact that he really knows what he’s talking about inside out.

Another thing I like is that he presents Islam as it truly is, a religion of peace, high values and strong principles.
He’s no radical or fundamentalist, he’s extremely moderate and what every muslim should naturally be.

For anyone who’s interested, the show is aired on Iqraa channel, both on Hotbird and on Nilesat.
Iqraa on Nilesat also provide English subtitles.

You know, because of his smooth moderate style, he’s got the attention of so many people of different ages and nationalities,and for this reason he was prohibited to enter so many countries. Even his program was blocked in some countries because they were afraid of people listening to him. You know why?! because he represents Islam in the right way. He gives the right picture of a Muslim, explains the morals of Islam, discusses its rules and talks about the greatness of Muslims and Arabs. He shows that Islam is so far from terrorism, and that Islam is the religion that gives women their rights and welcomes them as equals to men, something a lot of people try to convince themselves in its opposite. He’s a great person, and he doesn’t tell lies or pay any effort making someone like Islam. He just talks about it as it is with no modification, which is enough for all non-muslims to respect Islam, and for muslims to be proud they’re muslims.
    May Amr Khaled have all the success he deserves.

Beacuse the way he puts the messger to people about islam i one of the people who now is wearing the hijab.i am one of those people who my family from a young age naver realley talk about islame much i leaved in london all my life so realley naver had muslim friends

    I am Samira from the uk and i watch Amr Khaled’s show ‘life makers’ reguarly. Amr Khaled is a guy who has made so many men, woman even children know what Islam wants form us and what wes hould in our life for Islam . The way he speaks,he dresses his attitude makes non belivers and believers love him.He is a great guy ,may Allah bless him and reward him with good deeds Ameen.!!!

  15. I would really like to hear Amr Khaled in English. I looked up Nilesat and the other station and could not find English subtitles.

    I can’t even find out when his show is on because I want to record it for my husband to motivate him. He loves watching Amr Khalid but when he is not he looses his momentum.

    Anyone, please let me know how I can find his program time on Satelite and if there is English versions. Thanks.

  17. I am from Botswana and I am very touched by the words of Amr Khaled. It is very unfortunate that many of us living in this part of the world can read but not understand arabic. Their are just few programs of Amr Khaled’s that have English subtitles. Is their any possibility that all his programs start having English subtitles? Also, what is his email address?

    PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS STORY THAT HAPPENED TO ME

    i would like to tell you that i WAS one of Amr khalid fans, watching many shows for him…
    Till a day that my friend brought me Qur’an , and a tape for Amr khaled ” Adam w Hawaa’ ( adam & Eva)
    he asked me, listen!, iblies is Kafr, look to this Ayyah from Qur’an saying ” iblieas is from the Kafereen” after showing the Ayyah to me…
    He told me , the one who say against Qur’an is Kafer, the one who Call for different belief that what Qur’an said , is not muslim anymore….
    After a while , where i was thinking for his purpose since i know iblies is kafer…
    He said ” Now you Judge by Qur’an , about Amrkhalid beliefs, wal Eytho Bellah ta’ala menho”
    the tape started with the speech of Amer saying ” Ya Jama’a iblies kafar , aw ma kafarsh , laaaa ma kafarsh , la’anno al ^an Allah Rabbe”
    i will translate it to English , Amer said in the tape ” Guys , Satan (iblies) is Kafer or not”, then amr said: ” nooo, he is not Kafer because iblies said “My Lord, GOD”
    The i asked my friend why he might say this, he replied: “i agree with you, he is smart as a teacher, but at least the teacher should be a student in the beginning” and Amer khaled was bounced from Egypt because he dont want to stop preaching before he get a Degree from Azhar, he start deviating Qur’an by mistake, because he was on the spot to preach, and he doesnt have that much knowledge in Islam….
    He told me , regarding that, Amer while living in beirut was asked by a group of muslim for a meeting (2002), regarding this issue, but he didnt attend till now, because Amer is saying that iblies said ” My Lord, GOD”
    and Saying, “O GOD” ,or “My Lord” is a word said by ALL religions ( like Buda, …) all of them say O GOD, he told me saying o GOD doesn’t mean its islam, some people may say ” La elaha ella Allah, Muhammad Rasoul Allah” ( which is the pass word to submit to Islam) and they swear on GOD, and after a while they say O GOD, and some Make Salat where they thinks themselves is still Muslim, even if they say O GOD or My Lord….
    its About refusing to Obey GOD, and that what iblies has done, not obey god, not muslims anymore….
    I was totally calm, and couldn’t say anything , since he is holding Qur’an against …. my cries started running, where i thought this person an Islamic Preaher, and he was doing right….

    My friend said: ” because he didnt study islam, he started with Preaching to go to breaching by his mistakes” and said please please please, dont call him Preacher anymore…
    If he was a preacher he didnt said to people in Lebanon , beirut , Madena Al reyadeyyah , in 2002 , that you can believe in what you want….
    look, what he is doing, he is asking for them to that you have the freedom in Believe, AND YOU KNOW THAT , if someone accepted or said to a NON-MUSLIM, its ok while being in your Religion, that means we are accepting he wrong belief , and that means we are saying he is right,
    so what about Amr, who is saying to Muslim, Islam asks for freedom in Beliefs…. HE said in Arabic: ” Islam , w harreyat Al Aqeeda , ta^bod Yalle enta ^ayez” and ” el Sahabah Kafeloo horreyat Al Aqeeda”

    No more TV please, No more Amr, and dont be extremist to a person, we have to keep on following qur’an and our prophet Hadeeth ( peace be upon him)….

    Now, what is happening to me, that i cant trust anymore Amr, i’m afriad of believing in something , that might be against Qur’an…. i’m watching him just for “life maker”
    Amr you are good in preaching, BUT preach to Islam Please…..
    and i’m sending an emails to amrkhaled.net and they are not replying, i have several questions to ask him, they are in my mind… no one reply…

    I am an Arab/Christian and I have watched Amr on Sat TV a few times as I flipped channels and truly enjoyed his episodes and his smooth way of delivering contents, I find them educating and peaceful and would love to have all listen to them and that Amr doesn’t become just a fad goes away. Fifteen years ago or so I left the Arab world with no favourite memories about Arabs or the Muslim mind set in our culture. I have been on some occasions shouted at by kids because they see me with a cross on my neck, or car chased (believe it or not) because the driver of the other car spotted me candidly smoking a cigarette during the month of ramadan , this is just an example of many. To cut this short, congratulations for having this person emerge from the piles of scary looking preachers you would only see in your worst of dreams to talk about Jiihad, killing and no mercy punishement of all that is western to this gentleman who talks down to earth.   44. First, we pray to Allah that he grants Brother Amr Khalid tawfiq in calling to the Straight Path, the Path of those whom Allah favored, not those with whom Allah is angry (Those who have knowledge but don’t act) nor those who went astray (those who act without first seeking knowledge).

    We ask Allah to grant the brother sincerity in what he says and does and correctness therein by adherence to the Sunnah of our beloved, Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam.

    As part of our brotherly love and responsibility to each other, we also have the duty to help our Muslim brother whether he is the Trangsgressor or the one being Transgressed against.

    As such, I would advise brother Amr and myself to fear Allah and to fear the Day of Reckoning when no one’s judgement of you will count except Allah’s. It is well-known that many muslim sisters chose to adorn the outward part of hijab after listening to Amr Khalid (may Allah grant them sucess in observing true hijab internally and externally). InshaAllah, the reward for this will go to brother Amr if he has done so for seeking nothing except Allah’s pleasure.

    He who starts a good sunnah (way) will be rewarded for it, in addition to receiving rewards equal to the rewards of those who follow him into it. Whereas he who starts a bad sunnah will be burdened with it, in addition to receiving burdens equal to the burdens of those who follow him into it. [Muslim]

    In this light, I would advise Brother Amr to follow the sunnah and the command of the prophet to grow a beard when he said on the authority of
    Ibn ‘Umar : “Do otherwise than those who ascribe partners to Allah (al-mushrikin): leave beards be, and trim mustaches.” [(Sahih al-Bukhari]

    He also said, “Trim the moustache and save the beard.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

    Anas related that the Prophet said,
    “Anyone who dislikes my sunna is not of me.” (Muslim and Al-Bukh

  45. I am a young tunisian girl of 20 years old and I am living in France. During the Ramadan Period I was quite happy to watch MR AMR KHALED on the Iqraa channel. I never seen such a good preecher. Personnally, I have always heard preachers saying that if we didn’t do what God ordered us to do, we will suffer a lot. that’s true and we can not deny it. However Amr Khaled reminds us that Allah is KIND, that He loves us whatever we can do if we adore Him. He reminds us taha Allah forgive us end that we are, as muslims His favourites.Mr Amrou Khaled conveys peace and serenity. He really explains what Islam is. Nowadays a great number of eyropean people have a negative thought about Islam because of what is happening around us but Amr Khaled shows us really where Truth is. Islam is not the representation of violence. It is Tolerence,Love, Respect and peace. Thanks to him a large number of people enter our religion. I even surprised myself when I began to cry in front of my Tv when he talked about the Prophet’s Death.(may peace be upon HIm). This is wonderful to see how Mr Amrou Khaled used his words to explain how what is a fear for us was a mervellous thing for Mohamed(may peace be upon him). He was impatient to be next to God and even HIs family who lost their Great Leader, despite their sadness, was happy also. His daughter Khadija was crying when her father told her He would die that night;then she smiles when He comfess to her she would be the first to join Him next to God.
    that’s why I love to hear Amr Khaled. He talks about the Prophet’s life reflecting His Family, his life as a Man and His strong love for Hallah.
    Thank you Mr Amr Khaled and for those who don’t know him yet; let me tell you that when you’ll hear him, you won’t be able to forget Him.
